Bruce Barber's is the author of JETSAM, A collection of short fiction, JETSAM, and co-author (writing with Virgil Burnett, [1928-2012] as "Bevan Amberhill") of two mystery novels published originally by The Mercury Press (Toronto): THE BLOODY MAN (1993) and THE RUNNING GIRL (1996), and is sole author of the third book in the series, DOWNSTAGE DEAD (Pasdeloup Press, Stratford 2007). After being out-of-print for many years, this trilogy has since been re-released by Blue Shadow Press though AMAZON, also in both paperback and e-book editions. He has published one book of poetry, THE LIQUID HOUR (Pasdeloup Press, Stratford 2007), currently out of print, and his short fictions (several of which are included in JETSAM alongside the new stories) have appeared in various Canadian publications and anthologies, including On Spec, Neo-Opsis, Descant, StoryTeller, and The New Quarterly. He lives in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, is unmarried, has no children or pets, nor is he currently harbouring any fugitives. He has worked at many jobs to support his narrative-habit, freelancing as a proofreader, editor, and web designer, and has toiled in the field of book, music, film, and theatre-oriented sales. From 2007-2017, Barber was employed by the retail arm of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, specializing in Shakespeare and Shakespeare-adjacent physical media. He has now returned to full-time writing and lollygagging.
